On Wednesday, 2 July 2025, we were delighted to welcome Mr Sebastian Gr?nhardt and Mr Philipp Stempfle from the management consultancy Horváth as guests in the "Controlling" lecture at the University of Regensburg. We would like to thank both speakers for their exciting, practical and extremely informative presentation.

Their joint presentation centred on the topic of "Data, Dashboards, Decisions - How Business Intelligence Drives Controlling Instruments". The speakers vividly demonstrated how data-based decision-making characterises modern controlling and the role that business intelligence plays in this. They explained how integrated reporting architectures and smart dashboards are changing controlling processes - moving away from traditional reporting towards active, forward-looking management.

Using practical examples and live demonstrations, the students were given an in-depth insight into specific use cases from corporate practice. This allowed theoretical content from the lecture to be directly linked with real challenges and solutions in the field of business intelligence.

Degree was rounded off with a lively Q&A session, in which students took the opportunity to put their questions directly to the two experts. The high level of participation emphasised the great interest in the topics presented and made it clear how relevant business intelligence is for the controlling of the future.

We would like to thank Mr Gr?nhardt and Mr Stempfle once again for their visit and look forward to further opportunities to work together.
