Prof. Dr. Mathias Kraus

Mathias Kraus, born in 1989, pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Computer Science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2010 to 2016. After completing his Master's, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Freiburg in 2017. From 2018 to 2020, he was a PhD student at ETH Zurich, successfully defending his dissertation on "Deep Learning in Business Analytics: Methods and Applications" in October 2020. During his PhD, he also undertook a research stay at the University of Texas at Austin. Between February 2021 and January 2024, he served as a junior professor for Data Analytics at the Institute of Information Systems at FAU. Since February 2024, Mathias Kraus has been a full professor of Explainable AI in Business Value Creation at the University of Regensburg.
